An Awkward Moment.

If you get to know me really well you'll find that if I'm involved in an awkward situation, I will undoubtedly make it a hundred times worse (such as when a friend was trying to ask me out in an incredibly round about way and I had no idea what he was talking about. Yeah. Don't ask.). Today was one of those incredibly awkward times where I had no idea what to do or say.

I was standing in line to check out and after waiting my turn I placed my books on the counter and handed the librarian my card. After she scanned it and I paid my fines (only 50 cents this time), she started checking out my books for me.

It was only as she was checking the books out that I realized how many books I had checked out on the Soviet Union. There were only seven, but as she kept checking them out it seemed like there were so many more than that.

The librarian looked at the books and then back at me, "School project?"

I was torn between saying 'yes' and not appearing to be completely mental and just telling the truth. "Um, no," I replied, starting to gather up my books. There was nobody in line behind me, so the librarian kept chatting.

"No?" she said. "What are all of these books for then?"

"Just some research for a writing thing. Ever heard of NaNoWriMo?"

The librarian stared at me and slowly shook her head. "I don't believe it! I've never met anyone else who does NaNo!! Is your novel about the Soviet Union?"

And so I've learned that my librarian does NaNoWriMo and loves to write, but has never actually thought of publishing a book. She's incredibly nice and had I not checked so many books out on the Soviet Union, I wouldn't have known.

what happens when we watch movies.

my sister and i watch a ton of movies together.

this is not always a good thing.

especially when it's 10:30 at night and we're both incredibly hyper.
like two and a half weeks ago. when we watched harry potter and the half-blood prince.
it's even worse when we watch lord of the rings or pirates. because we can quote those movies word for word.

but with out further dillying or dallying (dontcha just love those words?), our randomness described for you.

we start out rather deep and just get weirder. seriously.

remus: "dumbledore trusts snape, therefore i do as well."
sister: "you also trusted pettigrew and look where that got you."

...

 me: *lolz at a lovesick ronald*
ron: "romilda. romilda vane of course."
  sister: "oh, romilda!! how could i ever live without you, my dearest darling romilda."
*ron hugs slughorn*
sister: "diz no iz my 'milda wuv. o.o"
...

sister: "wait. weren't all of harry's meeting with dumbledore at night? cuz that is obviously sunlight."
me: "maybe it's artificial sunlight. dumbledore is kinda pale. maybe he feels the need to tan."
*later*
malfoy: *in myrtle's bathroom*
sister: "oh my platypus! he needs the artificial tan too!"

...

harry: *talking about aragog*"a dead one it looks like."
sister: "harry, harry, harry. always the smart one. i'm so proud of you. how ever did you manage to figure out that the spider upside down on the ground was dead?!" *pause* "stupid."

...

tom riddle: *asks about horcruxes*
sister: *gasp!* "NO!!! THE HORRORS. NOT THE HORCRUXES, TOM." *sobses* "never the horcruxes." *pretends to faint*

snape: "have you ever considered that maybe i don't want to do this anymore?"
me: "hey! i don't want to poke myself with needles anymore! we're two of a kind!" *pause* "...except i'm not half-evil and still in love with someone from highschool. heck, i'm not even out of highschool yet!"

...

harry: *takes the locket from dumbledore's body*
me: "is he...grave digging? wow. way to wait for the body to be buried, harry. sheesh..."
sister: "that was the locket. You know, the (*air quotes*) horcrux?"
me: "...oh."

...

yes.

we're absolutely riddikulus.

get it? riddikulus?

yeah, i know, bad joke, but i had to stick it in there. ;)
